It's Official! Red Finch Gallery Opening

This last Friday was one for the books at Red Finch Gallery, as we hosted our first successful show opening! But it was more than just your average show opening, it was a night of fun, entertainment, and of course, engaging art and photography.

The Three shows on display were illustrator David Habben's abstract series of modern dance paintings "Be Somewhere," the photography work of Sherry Ward in her series "Dance: A Hidden Language," and "Solitary Impressions:" a juried show of portraiture photography. David Habben was live at the opening not only talking about his artwork, but actually showing patrons his process live as he painted ballroom dancers who performed throughout the entire opening event.

Patrons were able to get the whole experience as they looked at the art exhibit, and then got to see exactly how the work was made as they enjoyed watching the performances of the dancers and also Habben as he painted the giant 20 foot long canvas spread out on the ground.

"It was such an amazing experience to see our dancing painted out in a two dimensional way!" commented one of the dancers "this was unlike any art show I've ever been to before!"

Red Finch Gallery is excited to host similar events in the future to engage the art community in new and exciting ways and to give local artists and performers a chance to show case their work.

"Be Somewhere," "Dance: a Hidden Language," and "Solitary Impressions" are open to the public and will be hanging through the month of July.
